Job Overview

Primary Job tasks:

Contribute high-quality original writing and copy editing to a variety of writing projects such as proposals, marketing flyers, social media posts, case studies, etc.
Analyze the goals of each writing project, and identify the audience and approach required for success
Review and summarize solicitations (e.g., requests for proposal, requests for quote, requests for information) and assess the particular requirements for the proposal response
Identify appropriate content from the company's expertise base and customize the content to meet the needs of the proposal
Attend strategy meetings and contribute to developing win themes and differentiators
Gather information from subject matter experts, develop new language located on inputs, and obtain final approval of language
Format and copy edit final drafts to produce error-free, persuasive, compliant, and polished documents
Meet writing deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval
Enter and monitor proposal tracking data
Coordinate gathering text contributions from partners and review/edit as needed
Identify and communicate risks connected with writing projects
Maintain quality results by using templates and following proposal-writing best practices
Maintain APV's proposal and marketing materials expertisebase
Improve proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplate text
Maintain a current expertise of the field by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks.
Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

Advanced copy editing expertise
Presentation development expertise
Excellent written communication expertise, including grammar, tone, and style
Basic graphic design expertise
Proficiency in MS Word formatting and layout expertise

Flexibility to help on a variety of writing projects
Required practice: 3-5 years of writing practice
Required suitable education Bachelor's degree in communications, English, or other related fields
